The Bettian League Of Gridiron (BLOG) is a national American Football league contested between teams within Bettia. The league is divided into four conferences (North, South, East and West), with 16 teams battling it out for the AroraBowl.

(matches are scorinated using a slightly modified version of Starblaydia's Rugby Scorinator)

Competition Format

Each team plays each other once during the regular season. Each team is awared three points for a win, one point for a draw and nothing for a defeat. In addition, bonus points are awarded for the following: -

  • Scoring four touchdowns in one match - 1 point
  • Scoring six touchdowns - 2 points (total)
  • Shut-outs (i.e. conceding no points in a single match) - 1 point
  • Twenty point margin of victory - 1 point

Therefore, the maximum number of points available for any one match would be eight (three for the win, two for scoring six touchdowns, one for a shut-out and one for winning by more than twenty points).

The eight teams finishing first and second in their groups progress to the knockout stages, with the top teams having home advantage. The knockout stages continue using random draws until two teams are left to contest the Arora Bowl final, which this year is staged in Bettia's national stadium, the Stadiwm Bettia.
