Brackthan's Asteroid is a small moon far outside Allech-Atrean Imperial space that serves as a top-secret military base, research facility, and warp conduit, as well as houses the offices of the UN Delegate and the Imperial Union Hub.

The term asteroid is misleading, because the moon is actually quite habitable, with a breathable atmostphere and a spherical shape. Orpheius Brackthan, an astrologer from Histerius, inadverterntlty gave his name to the moon when he declared that according to Histerian astrology, there was an asteroid-object far out past Longyear (the system in which Histeius is located.) Because he was an astrologer, he claimed that the asteroid would cause havoc on Longyear and be the site of a great tearing in the omniverse.

When Imperial researchers scouting the outer reaches of known space discovered the lone planet, they named it Brackthan's Asteroid in his honor.

Sometime during the Second Keltan dynasty, a research facility was established on Brackthan's, and during the Second Valten Dynasty a military base was constructed. During the reign of Allech-Atreus I, a research breakthrough succeeded in cutting a wormhole through the aether, and connected to the nation of Caladonn. Researchers then made wormholes to other nations and modes of existence, connecting to the rest of known existence.

The UN Delegate's offices are on Brackthan's, as well as the diplomatic liasons with the Union of Independent States. A gorgeous hotel and resort is also on the planet, which serves as a place for visiting dignitaries to stay as they enter the Empire.
