The Queendom of Charlotte Ryberg is a very large, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Social Equality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 27%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Retail.
Inheritance tax has recently been abolished, citizens are regularly found digging for treasure in their gardens, an enormous health awareness programme is underway, and parents live in fear of governmental 'child protection' squads. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate. Charlotte Ryberg's national animal is the crucian carp , which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the krone.
Meanwhile, The Federation of Athens is in progress of being resurrected, and will be an twin of Charlotte Ryberg. There will be changes to the currency, the animal, but it cannot not join the United Nations due to the game rules.
