The Circum-Zansk War was a medium-sized war which was fought by the Zansk Kingdom and its allies against other nations, chiefly Aurum Domus, Wagdog, Shazbotdom and Vetaka. (In Progress)

Background

Fall of democracy in Zanski

After an internet poll, Zanski became a single-party state in which only the king (Kang Arma) and his parliament (Which included his father, Modi Arma) ruled the country, mainly to stamp out gang culture and terrorism. While it was successful in doing this, it also began to slowly take away the Zansk people's freedom.

Attempted Zaynite Coup Foiled

In 1987, the Zaynite National Front, the political and military entity that controlled the Zaynite ethnic group of 1.5 million, was accused of arranging a coup after documents were found in the Zaynah region of Mhoudia by Mhoudian soldiers. Sixty-Seven Zaynites and three Zansk citizens were captured and executed without trial. But even though a post-mortem investigation showed that all Seventy were guilty, the events attracted much foreign attention, both positive and negative.

Zanski's "War on Communism"

In 1990, King Kang Arma announced that Communism was largely illegal, except in families (although there were restrictions), and all travel or contact to marxist nations was banned. Many nations stepped forward and protested, and sanctions were put on Zanski and Zanski was blockaded. The only city to protest was Xanka, and the Government massacred three hundred student rioters. Again, the international community expressed huge outrage.

Red Xanka

After the massacre, huge riots kept popping up in Xanka and for a time, some bouroughs rid themselves of any police or Zansk military. Eventually, one of the riots scared the government off and Xanka was put under a 100-strong military government with ideas of future democracy and political freedom. This was called the Xanka Red Authority and 'De Facto' control over the area was recognised. This government was supported by many nations. No attempts were made to reclaim Xanka.
