The Communist Party of Disraeliland was formed in 1921, with a platform that included the usual communist agenda, along with independence from Britain.

The party would normally contest 20 seats, though at its peak in the 1980 elections, they contested 56 seats. They never won a Federal seat, nor were they ever represented in a state government.

The CDP was always more prevalent as an activist force in the trade union movement.

There have been two attempts to ban the party. The first occurred in 1965, following rumours that the CDP was being funded by the Soviet Union to rally opposition to the Vietnam War. This attempt failed to pass either House.

The second attempt took place in 1989, when it was revealed that the Communist Party has attempted to organise unions to prevent the shipment of military supplies to help the Richmond liberation, and was recruiting people for the insurrectionist government. This time, the ban passed, and the Party was dissolved, and its assets liquidated, and the cash placed in a fund to help victims of the insurrectionist regime.
