Danaan Ambara is a large section of Danaan territory located on in the northwestern part of the continent of Ambara. Danaan Ambara is a distinct region within the Resurgent Dream which plays an important part in Danaan security policy, the informal Entente alliance, Danaan immigration policy, and Danaan religious discourse. However, because of the recent settlement of the region in 1990, it does not have its own long-standing traditions except for those imported by immigrant communities.

Geography

As generally defined, Danaan Ambara consists of the Principalities of Amory, Thorlund, Zutern, Alekthos, Amalad, Selinia, and Carasia.

Of the principalities, the two souternmost, Thorlund and Zutern, border Marlund. These principalities have a close cultural connection to northern Marlund. They contain large numbers of German speakers, are strongly Protestant in religion, and coommonly show German operas or play German music.

Amory, an island principality, is largely disconnected from the rest of Danaan Ambara. The people of this principality are known for their reserve and their independence. Like most island principalities, Amory has a strong traditional of naval service, especially among the gentry.

The remaining principalities of Danaan Ambara (Alekthos, Amalad, Selinia, and Carasia) are far removed from the cultural influence of northern Marlund, although many former slaves from southern Marlund have taken up residence in them. In all four, a majority of the local population belongs to a religious or cultural minority. Danaan liberals point proudly to this area as to one which embodies Danaan multiculturalism.
