Dark Lord of the Sith or Dark Lady of the Sith is a title belonging to the ruler of the Sith Order. There are numerous claimants to this title, including Darth Malice.
The Dark Lords of the Sith are the acknowledged leaders of the Sith Order and the most powerful Sith of their time. Generally speaking, only two Dark Lords are recognized at a time, one master and one apprentice. However, this rule has recently begun to erode as more and more claimants to the title appear, many with some evidence to support their claims.
