Die Boerstaat is a nation of approximately 6 million people, it's located in a region known as the Boerstaat, translating from Afrikaans as the Afrikaner State. The Boerstaat was intitially known as The Republic of Ventersdorp, however due to the strict Apartheid policy adopted against the black community Ventersdorp lost several battles to superior powers and despite offering to reconcille and even holding a Truth and Reconcilliation Commision it was disbanded.

Several months later the Boers who'd occupied Ventersdorp decided to try and have a homeland again and after a 2 month bombing campaign against the ANC run South African government they were given the Boerstaat.

The former State President of the Ventersdorp, Rolf Meyers, became the President of the Boerstaat and held that position until he was killed.

Political Turmoil

Due to the surge in nationalism amongst the Boervolk there has been literally thousands of seperate incidents all linked in that they are part of a campaign headed by the Boerstaat's far right- wing political faction, the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB), to rid the country of all non- Afrikaans speaking people and all non- whites. The National Party who have been in the President's office since the beginning have said that although there would be restrictions on the governmental and military positions non- Boers could hold there'd be no evictions, however the AWB refused to recognise the non- Boers as citizens of the Boerstaat and initially with the help of other right- wing organisations like the Afrikaner Volksfront (AVF) they embarked on a war against the blacks.

The situation worsened when the Queen of United kingdom2 came for a visit, there'd previously been bad feelings directed at the British government for their anti- Apartheid stance and 1986 song 'I've never met a Nice South African', which was broadcast by the British Broadcasting Corporation on National television and upset the people of the Boerstaat.

Another reason political violence and communal violence are rife is that it's legal to organise protestbyeenkoms, which is Afrikaans for protest meeting, and if there's enough support to protest the wrongs of the nation. As is common in protests people become emotional and it can spill into violence quite quickly, this has happened on several occasions.

Suspected Bombers

Since the Queen of England arrived in Die Boerstaat the AWB chief Wolfgang Hayes has told her to leave or that the 450,000 AWB members will force her to. She has so far refused to, and police were called on several occasions to quell protests against her presence.

Security officers at Volksdorp International Airport arrested Fredrique Malan and Piet Belsen, two ex- Special Forces team leaders, who fought in the Great War of Ventersdorp, who were also prominent and extreme members of the AWB. A tip off from an unknown source indicated that they intended to bomb Vauxhall House, the Headquaters of Military Intelliegence 6 (MI6), Britain's foreign intelligence service. They are currently in custody, but when their bags were searched it was subsequently confirmed that, using mobile phone records, they had made contact with a former British army officer, unnamed, who it's believed is working as a paid mercenary. The British police can't track the British officer down for an interview yet, it's suspected he has become a fugitive.

Life in the Boerstaat

The vast majority of people live a good quality of life, and many fear that if non- whites acquire too much power it could change for the worse for the white majority. Most houses are very spacious and many people are emigrating for wealthier countries because the quality of life is generally much better in the Boerstaat.
