Divanzahgi Imperial Navy

The Divanzahgi Imperial Navy (DIN) is the branch of the Divanzahgi military tasked with the maritime defense of the the nation, as well as other duties such as preventing illegal entry into the country and conducting anti-smuggling and anti-piracy patrols. The DIN receives approximately 17.8% of the country's military budget. Its current commander is Admiral Muhammad Pakravan, a distant cousin of the Sultan.

The Fleet

The DIN operates many vessels of all shapes and sizes, from gargantuan battleships to river patrol boats. Its vessels are as follows:

Organization

The DIN is organized into several operational fleets, which are as follows:

  • Amphibious fleet
    • The amphibious fleet has permanently assigned amphibious vessels to transport Marines and Army personnel, as well as a small number of frigates to escort them.
  • Battle fleet
    • The battle fleet is permanently assigned battleships, light carriers, and most of the DIN's destroyers, in addition to a few frigates.
  • Aviation fleet
    • The aviation fleet is permanently assigned supercarriers, in addition to token numbers of destroyers and frigates to escort them.
  • Submarine fleet
    • The submarine fleet is permanently assigned all submarines (as can be surmised by the name).

The DIN operates several aircraft, including - but not limited to - carrier-borne fighters, search-and-rescue aircraft, medical evacuation helicopters, and more. Note that these do not include aircraft permanently assigned to carriers.

Marine Corps

The Marine Corps, the branch of the military specializing in amphibious warfare, is a subdivision of the Divanzahgi Imperial Navy. The Marine Corps receive similar weapons and training to their Army counterparts. It has the ability to deploy a combined-arms task force to any place in the world in mere days. The basic structure of each unit incorporates a ground combat component, an air component, and a logistics component, all serving under a common command element. There are two Marine Corps divisions, each 18,000 strong. Each Marine Corps division employs the following vehicles:

Coast Guard

Tasked with patrolling the rivers, lakes, seashores, and harbors of Divanzahg, the Coast Guard's primary responsibles include anti-smuggling and anti-piracy patrols. It also performs search-and-rescue missions and other duties, as needed. It operates over 1,000 boats, including, but not limited to, Motor Life Boats, Utility Boats, Deployable Pursuit Boats, Aids to Navigation Boats, Transportable Port Security Boats, Short Range Prosecutors, Long Range Interceptors, PBR in-shore fast patrol craft, and Sa'ar 5-class missile boats.
