The Divanzahgi Imperial Navy (DIN) is the branch of the Divanzahgi military tasked with the maritime defense of the the nation, as well as other duties such as preventing illegal entry into the country and conducting anti-smuggling and anti-piracy patrols. The DIN receives approximately 17.8% of the country's military budget. Its current commander is Admiral Muhammad Pakravan, a distant cousin of the Sultan.

The Fleet

The DIN operates many vessels of all shapes and sizes, from gargantuan battleships to river patrol boats. Its vessels are as follows:

Surface combatants

  • Battleships
    • 5 Jamshid I class battleships
    • 1 Fereydun II class battleship
  • Cruisers
    • 4 Ticonderoga class guided missile cruisers
  • Destroyers
    • 40 Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyers
    • 25 Sheffield class guided missile destroyers
  • Frigates
    • 35 Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates
    • 35 MEKO 200 class frigates

Aircraft carriers

  • 5 Charles de Gaulle class aircraft carriers (each with 14 Dassault-Breguet Super Étendard carrier-borne strike fighters, 14 Rafale M carrier-borne multi-role fighters, 2 E-2 Hawkeye Airborne Early Warning aircraft, and 10 Eurocopter Dauphin transport/utility helicopters)
  • 2 Nimitz class supercarriers (each with 15 AV-8 Harrier II multi-role aircraft, 30 F/A-18E/F Super Hornet carrier-borne attack aircraft, 15 P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine warfare aircraft, 2 P-3 Orion maritime surveillance aircraft, 2 E-6 Mercury airborne command post and communications center aircraft, 2 E-2 Hawkeye Airborne Early Warning aircraft, 2 EP-3E Aries II signals reconnaissance aircraft, 2 EA-18 Growler electronic warfare aircraft, 10 F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighters, 5 C-2 Greyhound cargo planes, and 5 C-130 Hercules cargo/personnel transports)
  • 2 Kitty Hawk class aircraft carriers (each with 25 T-45 Goshawk trainers, 25 Pilatus PC-7 trainers, 10 C-12 Huron medical evacuation aircraft, 10 O-2 Skymaster liaison aircraft, and 20 Bölkow Bo 105 utility helicopters)
