The History of Domnonia

The original settlers of Domnonia were largely of East Keeslandian descent, most are thought to have made their way to the Domnonian landmass by land, through the great Unknown Lands.
The "Kingdom of Hiel" was the focal point of Domini society until "The Great Readjustment" and the seccesion of 6 seperate states within the Kingdom. Hiel's fall from glory is largely attributed to the formation of the Federalist Republic to the West, severing Hiel's physical ties from it's mother county, Keeslandia. Each State within the Domnonian landmass was largely autonomous until The Socialist Republic of Sendar and the Kingdom of Domnonia embarked upon a reunification process in the face of a percieved threat from an alliance between the northern states of Powysia and Algaria. However, during the "Muil Summit" all sides realized they had mistaken eachothers intentions and a peace accord was drawn up. This peace accord and it's fair trade and freedom of movement clauses eventually became the basis for Confederation. In 1511, amidst worries that Hiels aggresive assualt upon the Sovereignty of Sendar, and the fear that if succesful, Domnonia and it's neighbours could be next, the seperated states of Sendar and Domnonia, along with the Old Republic of Qu'Or unified under the Domnonian banner to fight back. At this point, The Domini States were formed. The first signatories of the Domini Constitution were the heads of each three state within the alliance. During the Campaign between 1511 and 1530, all of the southern Domnonian landmass was claimed by the Domini States. However, Hiel's campaign in Algarian had finally led to the surrender of the Algarian council and it's occupation by Hiel forces.

In 1533, the Domini States were able to, through diplomatic means, coerce the Federalist Republic of the mainland to declare war upon Hiel. Under immense pressure from it's motherland, Keeslandia, Hiel finally surrendered it's landclaims in Algaria, Powysia, The Domini States and the aboriginal peoples of Domnonia. To avert war with the Federalist Republic, Hiel allowed them to annex it's mainland holdings. ALso, at this time, The Domini States were disolved into seperate entities.
