Drun

Overview

Drun is a city in northern Callisdrun, and is that country's secondary capital. The first king of Callisdrun, Haakon I (Haakon the Great) was king of the state of Drun before the Unification of Callisdrun.

Additional Information

Despite the fact that the royal family live most of the time in Callisdrin, the northern city of Drun is their ancestral home, and despite being a smaller city than its southern rival (Callisdrin, the capital) Drun is often seen as the dominant half of Callisdrun. This is probably because at the end of the Wars of Unification it was a king of Drun who finally united the various small monarchies. Drun boasts (often literally) the largest and most prestigious college in the country, the University of Callisdrun (at Drun), the National Archives and the Supreme Court, all housed in the enormous Drun Castle. It also has a port of comparable size to Callisdrin's, and a larger naval base. This beautiful city is usually seen as Callisdrun's cultural central point, meaning that if one wants to see what it means to be Callisdrunian, one should go to Drun.
