Eclipse is a relativley new region, founded on March 7, 2007 by The Armed Republic of Restless Ewoks. Eclipse was created by a coalition of smaller regional founders (Restless Ewoks, Helgrinder, Enaix Cyanir and Sante Zorin) who wished to stand together against larger forces that seek to dominate NationStates. The region is quickly expanding with a total of 65 nations. Eclipse is allied with the Federated States coalition, Four Arrows and Star Wars.

Recent History
The Jacobin Acquisition and Merger

Thanks to the work of the Eclipse diplomat, Powerseekers, the region has received a moderate amount of nations entering into its boarders from The Jacobin Union. The Jacobin Union was part of The Federated States Coalition, and had an inactive delegate, no founder and a largely inactive population.
Powerseekers embarked on a diplomatic mission to bring Eclipse and the Jacobin Union together as one. After a few days looking for active nations, he contacted Russian-Republics, who was the de facto leader of the region. After some negotiations, Russian-Republics conceded that a merger with a larger region would be in the region's best interest.
Powerseekers was able to gain the support of other active natives and with diplomatic assistance from the Eclipse Foreign Minister Enaix Cyanir, and military assistance from the regions The Legacy of Olympia, and later New Byzantium Empire, he was able to capture the delegacy to facilitate the merger, and purge all inactive nations(Which was generally agreed to be necessary for the region).
Not long after Powerseekers became delegate, the Great Green Federation intervened. Despite The Jacobin Union's inactivity and the continuing apathy and neglect displayed by the GGF toward the region, they laid claim to it, as it once was part of the Federation (most of the region's original members nations have died or moved on).
After intimidation tactics, threats of military action and even attempted bribery on part of the GGF's Emperor, The Dren, Powerseekers was able to maneuver himself around these diplomatic ploys, until the last of the active natives moved to his home region of Eclipse.
As of 6-15-07 Powerseekers is still delegate of The Jacobin Union, Police action "Jacobin Merger" is still in progress and The Jacobin Union has yet to be completely assimilated and dismantled.
