Elections in 1989

The national elections to Parliament in Zaaherland where held in May 1989. The largest question before the elections was the Flat tax that had been interduced by the Zaaherland Republican Party. Over 86% of the voters turn out.
170 Members of Parliament were elected
- Zaaherland Republican Party (ZRP) 86
- Democratic Union Party (DUP) 55
- Progressive Independence Party (PiP) 19
- Conservative Party (CP) 10
- Progressive Independence Party (PiP) 19
- Democratic Union Party (DUP) 55
After the elections ZRP formed a national government togehter with PiP. The Government lasted to the next elections where ZRP won a massive majority.
