Elections in Ad'ihan

Elections in Ad'ihan take place only for the Ad'ihan Senate, and are scheduled to occur at least once every three years, although a sitting Chief Minister or Governor may call early elections. To date, there have been two elections in Ad'ihan.

List of elections
November 2144
The elections of October to November 2144 were the first-ever, held to fill the first Senate of Ad'ihan after Ad'ihan was granted self-governance.
Structure of Senate
The structure of the Senate, and elections, in 2144 were as follows:
- 56 seats in Senate
- 60% supermajority (34 votes) to pass any legislation
- Four seats reserved for ruling federal party
- Ad'ihan is divided into four regions, with each party naming a team of two candidates to stand in each region. Winners of each of the four regional elections automatically gain two seats in the Senate, filled by the winning candidates. The results of the regional elections are then added together, and the final vote percentage at a national level determines the makeup of the remaining 44 seats. These remaining Senators have no obligation to any voting region and are filled by party members by various means.

July 2145
The snap elections of July 2145 were called by Alex Canning after he resigned his Cabinet to preempt a threatened vote of no-confidence in his government after he made controversial remarks over the appointment of Governor Simon Collins.
Structure of Senate
- 62 seats
- Supermajority of 60% (38 votes) to pass legislation and a supermajority of 70% (44 votes) to nominate a Chief Minister or propose a constitutional change
- Four seats reserved for ruling federal party
- Ad'ihan is divided into four regions, with each party naming a team of four candidates to stand in each region. Winners of each of the four regional elections automatically gain a number seats in the Senate, filled by the winning candidates:
- The winning party in the region with the most people voting gets 4 seats
- The winning party in the region with the second-most number of people voting gets 3 seats
- The winning party/parties in the other two regions get/s 2 seats.
- The results of the regional elections are then added together, and the final vote percentage at a national level determines the makeup of the remaining 47 seats. These remaining Senators have no obligation to any voting region and are filled by party members by various means.
