Saleemiqa (Arabic: سليميقا), officially the Emirate of Saleemiqa, is an emirate of the United Federal Kingdom of St Samuel, located north-east on the Pellina Island. It is bordered by the Emirate of Al-Salma, the Emirate of Hassia and the Emirate of Yasmia. The capital city is Fenizbad.

History

Saleemiqa was an Emirate of The Pellinese Empire between 2000 BC to 1200 AD. It's borders have remained unchanged since 954 BC when the council of Elders of the Pellinese Empire divided the empire into 19 Emirate's ruled by local warlords. Saleemiqa was awarded to Amm Qataban Saleemiqa, a legendary Pellinese warrior.

Upon the collapse of the Pellinese Empire, a power struggle ensued between the Caliph's of Saleemiqa against the Emir of Saleemiqa, Bahlul Ibn Nazzareth. The emirate crumbled under collision of regional power struggles. Nazzareth was killed in battle and peace was not found until 1257 AD at the 'Metting of the Nine,' in Fenizbad. The 'Meeting of the Nine,' was called by Caliph Omar Al-Jamali, who requested the nine most powerful Caliph's of Saleemiqa to discuss the future of the region. After 12 days of discussions peace was finally found. The nine Caliph's divided the land equally between them and Caliph Aḥmad ibn Gazziyyah was elected the first Emir of the new Saleemiqa. It was further agreed that every 10 years, the nine Caliph's would meet and elect a new Emir.

The nine districts that were founded at the 'Meeting of the Nine,' were named after the Caliph - Al-Malik, Al-Afdal, Al-Jamali, Al-Shahanshah, Al-Aziz, Danishmend, Duqaq, Gazziyyah and Gümüştekin.
