The Errikan Mark, originally known as the Errikan credit, is the official currency of Errikland and all colonies and protectorates. It was established immediatly following the civil war, when the Errikan government was formed. Emperor Christian I had it based upon gold, rather than directly based on the market. This seemed to be a very wise move, as the value in gold was skyrocketing. Due to mass overprinting, the currency's value began at one mark being worth less than seventy five cents (USD), but it grew quickly to be worth about $1.392 USD per mark. This rate was dramatically slowed, however, by the discovery of gold on a very large scale in Arterus. Still, the currency has never devalued, only remained fairly steady.

Twenty years after its founding, the Mark was stabilized at a constant rate of $2 EM = $1 USD.
