Eryn Firith
Eryn Firith is Kelssek's smallest province by land area. Its capital is Alavaria. The majority of the province's land area is part of Firith National Park, a large forest inhabited by an autonomous nation of elves.
The province was estimated to have a population of 1.5 million in 2006. Approximately 100,000 of this figure is composed of elves who reside in the forests of the national park. The elven population are self-governing and officially form an autonomous nation, however, they generally accept the jurisdiction of Kelssek. Nevertheless, disputes at the provincial level over claims of land ownership occur occaisionally.
The province's economy is dominated by agriculture and tourism. It is a major and highly productive producer of potatoes; accounting for a third of Kelssek's annual potato crop. Logging was banned in 1961 following disputes with the elves. Eryn Firith's provincial government is composed of a 27-member Legislative Council, elections for which must be held at least every five years. The Liberal Party of Eryn Firith currently has 23 of the seats and have been in power since 1973. The current Premier of Eryn Firith is Thomas Whig.
