Eurasia Magnus, which roleplays itself as claiming to be the dominant force in global politics for much of history, is open to select members and allows any form of government.

Overview

A diverse and peaceful region (at least when Ellie isn't around); Eurasia Magnus has been made world-famous thanks to its experimental time-travel program. This program - operated by the Eurasia Magnus Council - has been used to alter the very history of the universe over 2300 times. A side-effect of this program has been the Trans-Dimensional Portal, which allows member nations to travel to other worlds and destroy them in all-out warfare!

While governments in the region vary greatly in their forms of government, the Eurasia Magnus Council has managed to bring them together. Any nation in the region is permitted to join, but many nations are kept out of the region due to a 100 meter high fence, which fell out of Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve. Currently, the Council has not elected a President, although the Republic of Greater Eurasistan has the power of provisional President due to its status as Regional Delegate to the United NationStates.

Recently, tensions with the region of Idiotland have been stretched to the breaking point, but war has not yet begun. Presumably, Boston will be the first city destroyed, followed by Denver. Saunder's back porch shall fall soon after.

Eurasia Magnus Council

The Eurasia Magnus Council is a multi-national organization created for the purpose of strengthening international relations between the nations of Eurasia Magnus and the other regions of NationStates. The Williamsport Conference, beginning on January 11, 2005, and held in Williamsport, Wendellia, was the first official meeting of the conference, and is where the constitution is being debated. While the final structure has not yet been finalized, it appears that there will be three main levels of the Council; an executive and ministerial branch, and a bicameral legislature.

The lower level of the Council, presently referred to as the General Assembly, consists of all nations in the Eurasia Magnus region. Every nation within the region is automatically included in the Council, and therefore, every nation also has a seat in the General Assembly. No more than three nations may be presided over by one member.

The upper level of the Council, presently referred to as the Senate, consists of all members who preside over at least one nation in the Eurasia Magnus region. The number of nations presided over does not affect a member's status or voting power within the Senate.

The Executive and Ministerial Branch is composed of a number of different elements; the President of the Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of Regional Affairs. The existance of the position of Vice-President of the Council is still being discussed.

The President of the Council is elected by an absolute majority of members. They co-ordinate dicussion in the Councils, and determines the methods for Council resolutions. The President has the power to make treaties with other regions, with the approval of at least two-thirds of the Senate.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs is responsible for managing relations with other regions. This position is attained by being elected as the United NationStates delegate, and as such, may only be elected by member nations of the United NationStates. This minister is second-in-line for the Presidency.

The Minister of Regional Affairs is responsible for managing the intra-regional relations of member nations. Included under this is the Ministry of Immigration and Naturalization, which is responsible for granting entry to foreign nations. This minister is responsible for the general upkeep of Regional records, and is third-in-line for the Presidency.

Legislation of the Council can be initiated by either House. Any bill that passes both houses shall be given to the President for his approval. Should the President choose to reject the bill, it can be forcibly approved by a two-thirds majority in both Houses.
