During the history of Itinerate Tree Dweller, the national flag has underwent a number of alterations and recreations.

There are a total of three recognized national historical flags, all of which have significance both culturally and historically.

The first nationally recognized flag is the flag of the the first republic, the two color flag representing the republic of the nine tribes. The nine starts represent each of the nine tribes. The color green represents the earth and the color blue representing the sea. Each stripe represents the nine tribes as well, as well as the nine smaller stripes overlaying each individual star.

The second nationally recognized flag is the flag of the the second republic, the two color flag representing the republic of the nine tribes. The nine starts represent each of the nine tribes. The color green represents the earth and the color blue representing the sea. Each stripe represents the nine tribes as well, as well as the nine smaller stripes overlaying each individual star. The inverted star symbolizes the Ninthian tribe, which abandoned the republic and fell into a state of seclusion. The middle stripe, which represents the ninth tribe, has the text 'Fortis Et Liber' which is latin for 'Strong and Free', symbolizing the strong but secluded state of the ninth tribe. During this time, the remaining 8 tribes fell into disarray, a situation that eventually led to its fall and the rise of the Ninthian Empire.

The third nationally recognized flag, and current flag is the tradionally recognized benevolent evil monkey, which is the heraldic animal of the Xerikus family. This is the flag of the royal family, but can also be used as a national flag. Recent talks in the Imperial Senate have brought up the idea of creating a more contemporary flag, possibly based on a combination of the past and current designs.
