Flag of Itinerate Tree Dweller
During the history of Itinerate Tree Dweller, the national flag has underwent a number of alterations and recreations.
There are a total of three recognized national historical flags, all of which have significance both culturally and historically.
First Republic
The first nationally recognized flag is the flag of the the first republic, the two color flag representing the republic of the nine kingdoms. The nine starts represent each of the nine kingdoms. The color green represents the earth and the color blue representing the sea. Each of the eight minor kingdoms are given equal status upon the flag, but all are smaller than the middle and most important Kingdom of Hades.
During this time there was peace between the nine kingdoms and all people prospered under the republican government. However, where there is power and money, corruption will fester and grow. Politicians fell to corruption and fed off of bribery and deceit. The King of Hades, sensing a coming time of strife and civil war and having been given warnings from seers and oracles pulled out of the republican government and closed off his borders to all traffic, peaceful or not. The remaining kingdoms did not accept this and insisted that the Kingdom of Hades was merely temporarily in seclusion.
Second Republic
The second nationally recognized flag is the flag of the the second republic, the two color flag representing the republic of the nine kingdoms. The nine starts represent each of the nine kingdoms. The color green represents the earth and the color blue representing the sea. Each of the eight minor kingdoms are given equal status upon the flag, but all are smaller than the middle and most important Kingdom of Hades.
The middle star, which represents the Kingdom of Hades, is portrayed as inverted; this display represents that kingdom's retreat from republic politics and a state of seclusion. The rest of the kingdoms saved a place for the Kingdom of Hades at every meeting of it's Senate, but the Kingdom of Hades maintained its state of seclusion. Also during this time the republic entered into a period of decline in both prestige and power. Civil wars broke out between kingdoms and the republic was left in shambles. This led to the eventual rise of the Kingdom of Hades as sole superpower in the region and the formation of the Hadethan Empire, which still persists to this day.
The Empire
The third national recognized flag and current flag of the Imperial government as well as the flag of the royal family of the Kingdom of Hades, consists of borrowed elements of the previous two flags as well as the personal insignia of the House of Xerik and symbols representing the power and majesty of the Kingdom of Hades.
