The fouta (RPF or f), is the subdivide currency unit of the Pacitalian douro. One hundred fouta is the absolute equivalent of one douro.

Denominations

The fouta is a purely coinage unit of currency, with denominations in 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50.

Composition and Dimensions

The 1 fouta coin is the only non-nickel based coin, made of 97% copper and 3% tin. As you progress from 5 fouta to 50 fouta the amount of nickel in the coin decreases from 85% in the 5, to 77% in the 10, to 65% in the 25, and finally to 50% in the 50. Meanwhile, the amount of silver or tin increases. The 50 fouta is half-nickel, half-silver.

As the denomination increases, so does the size of the coin. The 1 fouta coin is the smallest at 0.8cm diameter, while the 50 has a diameter of 2.4cm (0.96 inches).
