He continued to fight, helping to destroy the Befestigungsklammer, until his father, Lord Henry IX was killed and he became Lord of Billopesha so had to resign from the army. During his reign, George V had to face the rise of Hontock and the rivalry with Damien V. This included the ‘Hontock Missile Crisis’ and an assassination attempt on him by a Hontockain in 1963 where he was shot in the arm. The assassin was later caught and imprisoned.
