Military
The Greater Farnham armed forces are the strongest and best funded (in excess of 6.2 trillion as of 9/10/07) in Heathrum. Servicemen in the Imperial Forces are the best trained in the region as well as the best equipped. They are also all completely loyal to the Emperor and are willing to sacrifice themselves in his name.
All citizens are at sometime in the armed forces. The minimum age in the forces is 12 and there is no maximum age. The Imperial armed forces are divided in to 5 main categories: The Imperial Air Force, The Imperial Army, The Imperial Navy, The Imperial Armoured Corps and The Imperial Medical Corps.
The most well funded service is the air force, which the size of all the other services put together. At any one time there are about 500 million personnel in the Imperial Armed Forces. The number of personnel in each service is listed below:
- Air Force: 200 million
- Army: 100 million
- Navy: 100 million
- Armoured Corps: 75 million
- Medical Corps: 25 million
During war, the government can enforce conscription which usually boosts the armed forces by about 200 million.
The Emperor is technically in command; however parliament mainly controls it along with the military leaders.
Due to the vast amount of funding toward research, the armed forces are equipped with lasers and so called ‘death-rays’ that far surpass even those of Wind and Sail.
