HE Solar Cells

Friendly Aliens Pre-Planetfall used to use solar technology all the time. The abandance of solar energy cannot be beaten. However the efficiency of the solar panels used by Friendly Aliens used to be around 100 percent this is no where near what human solar panels were like.

But after Planetfall Friendly Aliens immediatly recognised the similarities between the technologies and resurrected the neglected technology to make the High Efficiency Solar Panel or HE Solar Cell.

Instead of gallium arsenide or silicon crystals the Friendly Aliens developed a synthetic crystal called Gynam, this was doubly effective at turning light energy into electrical energy and because of its natural hardiness there is no need to cover the solar panel in a plastic or glass coating to protect against damage. As a result these new panels have an efficency of 80 percent.
