Governmental Descriptions

Government of the Month

  • The Government of the Month is the main governmental body in the Haputation region. There are five offices in Haputation that are elected and govern for a term of one month. After their term is over a new election is held. These are the offices
    • President
    • Vice-President
    • Secretary of Defense
    • Secretary of International Relations
    • Secretary of Inner-Nation Relations

Government of the Month Election Process

  • The President of Haputation sets up a six day period at the end of the one month term he/she is elected to. On the first day of this six day period, the President creates a post in the regional forum announcing nominations for a period of three days, along with an election period of three days to follow after nominations. At this time, those nations who wish to run for a government position will make a post in the forum stating the office that they wish to run for and a short speech there as well. At the end of the three day nomination period, the three day election period will begin. During the three day election period, nations within Haputation may vote for the nations they desire in the forum topic labeled VOTES FOR GOVERNMENT OF THE MONTH. At the end of the three day election period, the votes are tallied and the officers are installed. It is the current president’s job to post the new officers under the forum topic labeled _______ GOVERNMENT. (The _____ = the current month) At this time, the duties of the old government positions are passed onto the new officers.

House of Commons

  • The House of Commons includes all nations of Haputation that are not in the Government of the Month. The Vice-President heads the House of Commons, yet does not vote on any issues before it, or issues to be presented to the Government of the Month. The Vice-President also reports to the Government of the Month with any issues the House of Commons wishes to pass onto the Government of the Month. The Vice-President is basically the “watchdog” of the House of Commons who keeps organization and policy procedure in check.

Recent Work

  • The Founder of Haputation has begun recent work on a new alliance called the "Alliance of United Regions for Self Defense" (AURSD). This alliance will be for defensive regions and will aid in the defensive strategies that several regions on NationStates have in common.
