Biography

Born March 4th, 1840 in the royal residence in Laguria, he was the fifth child of Crown Prince Siñiari, the later King, and thus the 6th in the line of ascension to the throne.

When a smallpox epidemic struck also the royal family in 1849, he was the only child who did not fall sick. His parents interpreted this as a divine sign, and through a special act of parliament, Hubri was made the Second Heir to the Throne, after his father.

At the age of 15, he was married to Princess Peiara Sapna of the Halani tribe in order to secure Baranxtu's grip on Halaora and Ziaha, which were still semi-independent states under Baranxtuan protection.

In 1860, the same year Baranxtu became a republic with a monarch as head of state, Hubri graduated from the University of Siraŋe where he had studied Nidajan linguistics.

Their son Siñiari was born in 1859, and their daughter Harma was born in 1860.

After his father's death in 1867, Hubri ascended to the throne aged 27. He thus became the youngest king on the Baranxtuan throne so far ( Siñiari I had been 70, Aŋlija had been 50, Queen Melumna had been 57 and King Siñiari II/I had been 35).

In 1869, he announced plans to reintroduce the death penalty; these plans where thwarted by his untimely death in 1870 from food poisoning.
