The Commonality Crown Guard, the ICEL military, is known for rapid-deployment and extremely rapid advances.
The CCG is perhaps also known for its claim that the Rukemia Campaign is the shortest capture of an entire nation in military history - the Campaign lasted just three hours from start to finish, with a Rukemian surrender without hostilities. Hostilities did then flare following the surrender, and the CCG (then known as the Imperial Defence Forces) did recieve criticism for its heavy-handed tactics during the Occupation of Rukemia, but it ought to be noted that the style of uprising was unusually horrific, with large numbers of Rukemian nationals murdered in cold blood by rebel factions.
The CCG is also known for its effectiveness in the air; the CAF (Crown Air Force) can boast an almost entirely spotless record since its inception two years ago, with no sorties considered 'lost'. The CCN (Commonality Crown Navy) is known particuarly for its preference for submersible vehicles, but in recent years has constructed a small but deadly surface fleet consisting of combination aircraft-carrier/battleship Air Dominance Cruisers, known as Vanguard-class ships, and lesser cruisers, known as Devastators.
The CCN was defeated conclusively for the first time in its three thousand year history during the Knootian Shadow War, at the hands of a vastly numerically superior Whispering Voices fleet; the CCN to this day claims that SATO mismanagement was primarily to blame for the loss, although such claims are somewhat muted in the face of the clever tactics employed by the Whispering Voices navy; however, it is true that expected SATO support simply did not materialize.
The Crown Guard Lancers - comprising the main bulk of the ground forces - is noted for being overbloated and undertrained, and is almost never deployed offensively; instead, the Commonality Strategic Peacekeeper Unit (CSPU) or Royal Special Operations (RSO) are more commonly deployed at need. The other major branch, the newly-renamed Commonality Space Force (CSF), is known to be more relaxed in protocol and is largely an unknown factor with regards to effectiveness.
