Imperial Federation

The Imperial Federation is a region of Empire and Democracy; freedom and independence. It is a constitutional monarchy ideologically and structurally inspired by the late-19th early-20th Century proposal to create a federated union in place of the existing British Empire.

Introduction and History

The Imperial Federation was founded in the Autumn of 2006 by Sheehyland. The government is currently in its second edition, where the head of state is the Emperor, and a Parliament runs legislation and is headed by a Prime Minister.

Initially, the Imperial Federation created the NeoPrussian Federation in conjunction with the region NeoPrussia. After disagreements regarding sovereignty, and several misunderstandings, a war of sorts erupted. Despite this, both regions continued to grow, and it was during this time that most of the Imperial Federation's current active members joined. Once Kaiser Furtwald of NeoPrussia disappeared from NationStates without warning, the NeoPrussian cause collapsed and the war came to an end. Activity in both regions diminished, but the Imperial Federation has grown since. The population of the Imperial Federation nearly doubled in the Autumn of 2007, growing from 34 to 60 people.
