Imperial Palace Guard (IPG)

The IPG is the elite bodyguard of the Iluvauromeni Imperial Family. They are historically known to be brutally fanatical in their protection of the ruling monarch in particular. They hold various powers over the personal life of the monarch, including a partial say in the approval of any state visits or even intranational travel. They were founded by High Queen Lothsáralossë ar-Rihad, first of the now ux-Rihad Dynasty, who was also the first Empress of the Empire of the Eternal Flame. The name of her Consort remains shrouded in mystery, like many key facts of those days.

They are known for the prevention of at least seventeen attempts at revolution against the ux-Rihad Dynasty.

Mysteriously, they did not play a part in the downfall of the old Empire of the Eternal Flame, although it is widely believed that the unusual and immediate reinstatement of the Guard following the rise of the Empire of the Eternal Dawn is because at least one cell of the Guard survived and protected the Imperial Bloodline during The Long Night.

There are no public records regarding the identities of any member of the Guard.

They are, however, frequently seen in public, usually wearing full-body armour and wielding what appear to be arm-mounted m-wave blasters. They no doubt carry the very latest Iluvauromeni hardware, and the highest ranking officers amongs the Guard are likely to also carry the exceedingly rare pBds (Personal Barrier Devices). This is not confirmed.
