The Imperial Party of Bostopia was founded in 1830, after Emperor Boston decreed that political parties were allowed to be formed in Bostopia. The Imperial Party was set up to fight elections in the Castle and Park District of Fort Boston, so that the Imperial Party would have a "democratic mandate" to continue it's traditional ruling over these areas.

The Imperial Party of Bostopia is the only party to stand in the Castle and Park District, as only the Emperor (and Empress, if there is one - or vice versa) lives within the District. The Emperor (or Empress), being head of the Imperial Party from the moment they take the throne, therefore gains a 100% majority in every local election, unless their wife or non-eldest child decided to start their own political party to stand in the Castle and Park District.
