Several rulers followed Namar, developing infrastructure and culture. Under the reign of Persiben the ruler of the 26th dynasty, however, the union broke down. Persiben claimed to be the Emissary of the Pah-Wraiths (the immortal enemy of the Prophets, the Askiran Gods. See Religion). Kai Ebrahm Tain, the Askiran spiritual leader, led the great offensive against the evil dictator Persiben and where a battle in which millions where lost, he broke Persiben’s reign of oppression against the Askira. The reunification of Askira, took shape. However life in ancient Askira was a time of strife. Askira underwent intense climatic changes that greatly influenced the ancient Askira, it has been attributed that the entire island, some 2,000 years ago, was the victim of intense volcanic eruption out in the Atlantic Ocean. Climatic conditions where greatly altered on Askira and the Atlantic Ocean completely over-ran the Yatoke province, causing mass-death and destruction. Among the cities that where covered by the flood, Kannu Jui (the secondary governmental capital), suffered most, what few officials where left, urged the populace to remain calm. The union almost broke apart. With the loss of Emperor Medjay’s life in the flood, his brother Meryibra assumed power, and founded the 30th dynasty. The new Emperor restored peace to Askira, but it would take many, many years until the depression that stalked the land receded. Askira’s particular geography aided its early development. Askira was naturally protected. Separated from the continent buffed the chance of outsider influence until very late in the 17th Century.
