The largest and most populous region within the United Kingdom of Isselmere-Nieland (UKIN), Isselmere had, since 985 AD, been joined with its northwestern neighbour, the Principality of Anguist. With the advent of the Constitution Act, 1986, the Kingdom of Isselmere became simply one of four autonomous regions within the altered United Kingdom.
