History

In 1970, Peter Sanata came up with the idea to introduce American football to Jhiland. He established the Confluence Firebirds, Westbank Rukhs, Mount Stevens Rebels, and the Farraday Vipers. The four teams played each other four times, twice at home and twice on the road, and the team with the best record was the national champion.

In 1980, two new teams were added: the Pinecrest Panthers and the Sanabel Marquis. In 1981, those six were joined by the Ansara Yellow Jackets and the Gregortown Cavaliers, and each team played each other team twice, once at home and once on the road.

In the following year, the league was split into two conferences, the South and West Conference (SWC) and the North and East Conference (NEC). Each team played each other team in its conference four times, twice at home and twice on the road just like the original four, and the winner of each conference would play one game against the other. The winner would be the national champion.

In 1992, the league's size was doubled with the introduction of the addition of the Androya Storm, Samirillon Generals, Bethesda Pioneers and the Tinamon Pirates into the NEC, and the Havenport Blades, Upton Bandits, Dalton Kings, and the Imonin Bulls into the SWC. The divisional setup was introduced. Each time now plays each other team in its division twice, once at home and once on the road, each other team from the same conference once, two of those games at home and two away, and each other team from an alternating division in the other conference once.
