Overview
The nation of Jjuulliiaann is the founder for its region, Union of Independent Nations. It is a Left-wing Utopia, with excellent civil and political freedoms, and heavy restrictions on big businesses.
Jjuulliiaann's puppets are Travistaan, Liberal Experiment, Conservative Experiment, Union Recruiter, UIN Recruiter, and a bunch of spies.
Geography
Jjuulliiaann is a gigantic nation, with a wide variety of temperatures and geographical features. With mountains in the north, plains in the central area and south, water on the west, and city in the east, Jjuulliiaann has almost every geographical area imaginable. The coast on the west is not beach or hills, but sheer cliffs, which makes invasion by sea nearly impossible. The eastern half of the nation is almost entirely a very dense city, which is the capital, Jjuulliiaann City.
Political System
Jjuulliiaann has a very left-wing libertarian government. Everyone is taxed very heavily, and extreme welfare programs are in place for the poor.
The government-owned health-care program is available to all, as is free mass-transit, food, and education. Each and every citizen in Jjuulliiaann is guaranteed a free and first-class education from day-care through graduate school. The cost of this is payed for mostly by the rich, who have an average income tax rate of 100%. There is very little sales tax, however, as corporations are almost nonexistent.
The private sector is also small because the government runs all major industries, including water supply, gas, education, health care, food, transit, law, and military. However, as Jjuulliiaann is generally a pacifist nation, the military is composed of a very small guard force which maintains the borders.
Jjuulliiaann is generally open to all refugees, as, although its population is huge, the nation itself is much larger, and there is plenty of room for expansion in its region, the Union of Independent States.
Jjuulliiaann has elections for every government office once every two years. Each citizen gets one vote, and the candidate with the most votes wins. If there is a tie, the entire nation re-votes. Also, each citizen of Jjuulliiaann votes on all bills to be passed through the Congress. The people have a three-quarters veto over the Congress. It takes a 100% majority in the Congress or a citizens veto to pass a bill through Jjuulliiaann. The president of Jjuulliiaann, Travis Emergency gets one vote, just like the rest of the people, and also gets one vote in Congress, just like all other Congress-members. Also, each Congress-member get one citizen's vote.

Jjuulliiaann has never participated in a war in its entire history, which is quite notable considering that it is one of the older nations in the world, and the oldest in the region. The second oldest nation in the region is Caladonn, followed by Kreihelm. Jjuulliiaann's military consists entirely of volunteers, who have the option to resign at any time, without any notice.
Regional Relations
Jjuulliiaann is a member of the Union of Independent States, a generally pacifistic region, as thus makes it a policy to abstain from all invasions and warfare. As noted above, there is a very small military, composed of all volunteers (who have the option to retire at any time whatsoever). Jjuulliiaann is very friendly with every nation in the region, and in the world.
In the region, Jjuulliiaann is especially friendly with Travistaan, Liberal Experiment, Caladonn, Helaconn, Kreihelm, and Indus Cloud.

Origin
Jjuulliiaann was founded on July 12th, 2003, in The Pacific, received a recruitment telegram from Mother Prussia for the Union of Independent States within minutes, and moved there right away.
Shifting Politics
Although the nation of Jjuulliiaann has always been somewhat left-leaning, its politics have moved considerably farther to the left and more libertarian as time has gone on. The major step was when Travis Emergency became Chief Comrade of Jjuulliiaann, and the nation became what it is today: a left-wing paradise. Although it has been this way for a while, Jjuulliiaann was even a corrupt dictatorship or a democratic socialism or an inoffensive centrist democracy for a while.
