Karasitha

World Factbook Entry: The planet Karasitha is located in the Lalusa system near the core of the Andromeda Galaxy. It is the second planet from the sun, and is as a result somewhat warmer than Earth, although not uncomfortably so. We welcome any nation and any political type. The fact that it's not on Earth need not deter you, Gurguvungunit will provide peoplemovers to take your population to Karasitha.

As a basic summation, the Factbook Entry is fine. However, the history of Karasitha goes far beyond the basic information presented therein.

History

When Gurguvii Scientists aquired the ability to move outside the Milky Way Galaxy in their exploration of the Karos Graveyeard (joint operation with The Parliament Funkadelic of Lunatic Retard Robots), a galactic gate was immediately constructed. A scouting squadron comprised of two Imperial Star Destroyers and a single Clairvoyance class Sensor Craft was transported via the large gate to the Andromeda Galaxy, where the Sensor Craft and its escorts scoured the nearby star clusters for habitable worlds.

The search for a habitable planet in Andromeda was prompted by a population explosion in Gurguvungunit, coupled with the recent acquiration of high space technology. It was now possible for the entire Gurguvii nation to leave Earth, in search of a new home. An open invitation was sent to all close allies of Gurguvungunit. Several accepted, and a plan was formulated to find a new home in the stars.

It was determined by a multinational panel of politicians, strategists, economists and statisticians that the Milky Way was approaching the same problem as Earth, an impending population overload. So the choice was made to abandon the Milky Way in favour of the Andromeda Galaxy, to which end the exploration team was sent.

After seven months of careful scouting, the team found Andromeda Object 74, a dangerous nebula filled with dangerous asteroid belts. At the centre was a type G Main Sequence star, very similar in size and temperature to Sol. After negotiating the dangerous pathways through Object 74, it was discovered that the star was orbited by five planets, one of which was habitable, if a bit warmer than earth.

It was decided within the next month that this planet, named Karasitha for the wing leader who died saving the Destroyer Kali from an asteroid impact during the exploratory mission, would be the new home of the Gurguvii, Wormian, Wolfan and Yoshian people.

An exodus of over a billion people began in that year, with hundreds of out of date warships and personal spacecraft being converted to peoplemovers and making the trek across the galaxy. Due to the power limitations of the Galactic Portal, it was placed at the closest point to the Milky Way, which was about three weeks at lightspeed travel.

As nations arrived at Karasitha, territory was negotiated aboard a Wormian cruiser in orbit. Gurguvungunit, Wormia, and Topnotch Toast acquired the largest pieces of territory, While the Wolfan Empire and Yoshian took slightly smaller parcels, owing to their smaller populations.
