History

The Capital of the Empire of Katislov is one of the older cities in the Empire, dating back to BIR(Before Imperial Rule)1300 making it roughly 3200 years old at the current time. The city was the base of the Nedila family, the rulers of the city, with all of the family using the family fortress as a hideout from enemy families over several centuries. However in BIR 694 the city was sacked by a tribe from the south and nearly all of the Nedila were killed. The tribe, the Kelitani ruled Katisinia as part of the Leginid Empire for nearly 200 years before collapsing from internal breakup and the remenants of the Nedila family took control. In BIR 327 the head of the family at that time, Jehindri Nedila raised an army to attack and conquer surrounding cities. Over the course of the next 3 centuries the Nedila family conquered nearly a third of the current day Empire and so in BIR/IR 0 Ledrinik Nedila declared himself Emporer of Katislov, the ancient name for the district around Katisinia, and built the Mensili Palace in the heart of the city. Over the next 1000 years the city grew large and prosperous until in IR 1000 a great fire burnt down most of the city including the Mensili Palace, now much extended, leaving the city poor. The Imperial Family moved to Kenap, further down the coast, making it the capital and might have stayed there permantly if not for the events of IR 1482 which saw a major investment in Katisinia and the building of many fine houses and the creation of the park district which attracted the Imperial Family back to Katisinia. For the next 400 years the capital continued to grow until IR 1852 when the population level of the city exploded due to vast numbers of new jobs created by advances in technology. At the current time the population has reached over 65 million people and is still the fastest growing city in the Empire with the population set to double in the next 50 years.
