The Roads of Kedalfax

Federal roads are divided into two types: Interstates and routes.

E-Class

The E-class highways (Expressways) are limited-access, grade-separated highways designed for quick transport across long distances. The system's construction started in 1949.

Specifications of E-class highways:

  • Design speed of at least 88 km/h (~55mph) not including:
    • Interchanges
    • Areas where such design is impossible
  • Maximum grade may not exceed 8%
  • Speed limits may go no higher than 88 km/h
  • Must have at least two lanes in each direction
  • North/south routes have odd numbers, and east/west have even numbers.
  • Routes with two digit numbers are primary routes, while those with three digit numbers are secondary routes

K-Class

The K-Class highways are full access highways, designed for local traffic. There are far fewer specifications to the design.Numbering was first implemented in the early 1920s.

Kedalfaxian Port Authority

The Kedalfaxian Port Authority oversees the actions and management of the various ports in Kedalfax. It is also in charge of the National Ship Registry.

National Ship Registry

The Federation of Kedalfax requires that all vessels with mechanized propulsion traveling in registered waterways be registered. Registered waterways include all rivers, major lakes, canals, and areas within 20 km of Kedalfaxian shores.

Classes of ships

  • P/V: Personal Vessel. Max. Capacity of 100 people or less. May not be used for commercial or industrial uses.
  • M/V: Motor Vessel. Ships capable of carrying less than 1000 people. May be used for commercial use.
  • C/V: Cruise Vessel. Capable of carrying 1000 or more people. May be used for commercial use.
  • F/V: Freight Vessel. Used ONLY for carrying freight. Captain will be arrested and questioned if persons besides crew are found.
  • K/S: Kedalfax Ship. Only used by military.
  • H/S: Hospital Ship. Conforms to UN Res. 152
  • O/S: Other Ship. This can be anything not listed above.
