Composition
The Kylesburgh Council is composed of 24 councilors, elected nationwide in staggered four-year terms. Thus, Kylesburghers elect six councilors every year.
A list of candidates is presented to voters, and voters can vote for 6 candidates. The top 6 would be considered elected to the Council.
Requirements
To be elected to the council, one must be 18 years of age and above, and is a citizen of Kylesburgh.
Division
Currently, the Kylesburgh council is almost evenly divided between the Conservative Party, holding 12 seats; and the Liberal Party, holding 11 seats. The Green Party has one seat.
As the majority party, the Conservative Party selects the Speaker of the Council. For the term 2006-2007, the speaker is Councilor Bryan T. Descoteaux.
