Little is known of Robertson before he founded U.S. Robotics Inc. in 1997. The first several years did no go very well, by 2001 it was likely that the company would have to shut down. Then, in the latter half of 2001, they made a breakthrough, the Positronic Brain. With it they were able to make robots smarter, smaller, and more energy efficient. In two more years they were the largest manufacturer of domestic automatons in the world, and in 2005 they released there greatest product, the Nestor Class 5. This robot revolutionized the way the world uses robots. Recently they have expanded to accept military contracts, though there main business is still domestic robots. Through all this Lawrence turned his multimillion dollar investment into a multibillion dollar business, and has become one of the richest people in the modern world.
