The Glorious Confederate Armed Forces
Created soon after liberation from the Soviet Confederation it was originally a ragtag group of local militiamen with regulars and a few armoured vehicles. Today is it a formidable force that can project massive power worldwide within hours. Totally the armed forces consist of 100 million men and women, standing and in reserve. At any moment the Civil Defense Intiative or CDI can be activated and an additional 1.2 billion people can be armed, bringing total number of armed personnel to 1.3 billion, though this number is speculative and relies on arming academy age children and retirement age citizens.
The Armed Forces are split into 8 groups, the Army, Navy, Air Forces, Marines, Confederate Guard, Missile Command, Coast Guard and the Civil Defense Intiative.
Glorious Confederate Army
The Confederate Army is the largest division of the Leafanistani Armed Forces. They are currently divided into the Regular Confederate Army, the Confederate Army Reserve and the People's Guard.
Currently the Regular Confederate Army consists of all volunteers with Reserves and People's Guard as conscripts since Academy age.
Regular Confederate Army
The Regular Confederate Army consists of a standing army of 3.8 million people distributed into several territories, over 140 divisions broken into 70 Corps and 10 Armies.
Confederate Army Reserve
The Confederate Army Reserve consists of 10.2 million people who aren't on active service and are only activated in case of emergency. They are broken up into 510 Divisions within 170 Corps and 17 Armies in 7 Army Groups in 4 Theatres. They serve every other weekend, and 1 month every year. The "Every other weekend, and a month " motto is a popular recruitment tool. The Army Reserve consists of regular Confederate Army personnel who have left active duty
People's Guard
The People's Guard is a natural result of the nation's almost fanatical fear of enemy invasion. Anyone who leaves the academies at age 16 is automatically a member and anyone who joins the 6 month training program becomes one. The People's Guard is the final line of defense, subsidized by the government through the CDI or Civil Defense Initiative Act, it pays for the training and equipping of anyone who qualifies. At any moment CDI armouries will disperse AK-104s and various light vehicles and artillery for use amoung the populace. It is a last ditch effort to blunt an enemy attack.
The second largest of the armed forces, it consists of the standing Leafanistani Navy and the Naval Reserve. Local federal states are allowed to hold State Naval Guards at their own expense.
The standing Navy operates 10 fleets in over 4 theatres with nearly 2.5 million sailors.
