The Military Department of the Anti-Dentite Watchmen of Linus and Lucy is responsible for operating and maintaining the country's military forces. It is currently headed by Team Captain Marvin Harrison #88.

Force composition

The Linus and Lucy military consists of three brigades of light infantry, three fighter squadrons, and two close-air-support squadrons. The military forces of Linus and Lucy are primarily organized around a defensive role; thus, military lacks a navy and amphibious assault troops as well as such weapons as long-range strategic bombers.

Organization

Army

The basic unit of the army of Linus and Lucy is the regiment. A combat regiment consists of 800 enlisted men plus 300 noncommissioned officers and 131 officers. A regiment consists of a single type of functional unit (currently infantry, armor, or artillery) and is built as follows:

  • Squad: Consists of four Privates and is led by a single Corporal (known as a "squad leader"). Each member is armed with an individual semi-automatic assault rifle; additionally, there is one submachine gun per squad for fire support.
  • Platoon: Consists of two squads, and is led by an additional Second Lieutenant (known as a "platoon leader") and Sergeant ("assistant platoon leader")
  • Company: Each company consists of ten platoons, and is led by an additional Captain ("Company Commander") and First Lieutenant ("Company Executive")

In addition to their rifles, all officers and senior noncoms carry a pistol as a sidearm.

A regiment, therefore, consists of ten companies as well as the Regimental Commander (a Lieutenant Colonel) and the Regimental Executive (a Major) as well as a regimental headquarters staff, consisting of a Captain as Chief of Staff, one First Lieutenant for each of the five headquarters sections, and three Second Lieutenants as aides to the commander and executive.

A combat brigade consists of ten regiments, organized around a particular role. Though the brigade will be primarily composed of regiments of the brigade's type, some of the ten regiments will be for support units of other types. For instance, a light infantry brigade will consist of seven regiments of light infantry as well as two regiments of artillery and one of armor for support.

As the military of Linus and Lucy grows, the Linus and Lucy Military Department has announced ten brigades will be further organized into divisions. A division will be organized around a single role (e.g. light infantry, armor, artillery, airborne/air assault, etc.) and will consist solely of brigades of that particular type. A division will be the highest level of unit organization in peacetime; all divisions of a given type will fall under a role-specific Peacetime Training Command.

In wartime, divisions will be assigned to corps, and corps to armies. The makeup of armies and corps will not be fixed; rather, divisions will be moved among corps and corps among armies based on the needs of the current situation.

Air Force

The basic unit of the air force of Linus and Lucy is the squadron. A combat squadron consists of 100 aircraft and their concomitant air and ground crews. Immediately below the squadron is the Flight, consisting of ten aircraft and their crews; however, Air Force Flights do not typically operate separately but always as part of their squadron.

As the Air Force of Linus and Lucy grows, squadrons will be organized into Wings of ten squadrons, and then Groups of ten wings. In peacetime, Air Force Groups will be under the command of a role-specific Peacetime Training Command; in wartime, Groups will be assigned to numbered Air Forces based on theater and situational needs.

Long-Term Planning

On 1 December Year 54, Team Captain Marvin Harrison #88 released the Long-term Organic Force Augmentation Plan (LOFAP). The LOFAP outlined the growth plans for both current armed forces of Linus and Lucy as well as a future Navy, over the next 30-50 years.
