Liverpool England Glorious and Wonderful was adopted by Liverpool England's Parliament to be the nation's official national anthem on the March 18, 2006. It passed in parliament with an 86% majority, compared to a second national anthem proposal voted on at the same time (which also passed, but with only a 77% majority). The 2146 National Anthem repeal, which passed by a slim margin, resulted in the song losing its status as national anthem.

Lyrics

It is sung to the tune of Das Lied der Deutschen, the RL German national anthem.

The following is the English version of the song, which is sung to the tune, although the tune was originally made to fit German words. Certain words contain stresses and contractions compared to normal use.

Liverpool England, a glorious land;
Glorious past, Glorious future
Liverpool England, a glorious land;
Glorious history, a wonderful place:

Wonderful people, wonderful families,
Wonderful cultures and friends

Liverpool England, wonderful and glorious,
Liverpool England, this glorious land
