History
Longeaton was the first settlement in Calder founded due it's strategic location at the crossroads of the main roads out of the rest of Maanenland. It's location at the bottom of a valley however made it vulnerable to attack when the city was razed in the 18th century following conquest by Maanenland forces.
Economy
The local economy is based exclusivly around the passing trade of the motorway and railway connections. Some local small scale farming of the valley floor and local mining make up the rest of the town's economy.
Tourist Attractions
The picturesque valley is the main attraction to the area. Other attractions include river cruises and tours of the local historic monuments , specifically civil war battle sites such as at Harscombe Downs.
Transport
The town is a hub for all international traffic from Maanenland that follows the valley floor from the plains county. The towns main railway station is Longeaton International which has services every thirty minuites to Stretford and Cliffton. The main roadway the M3 also passes close to the town.
