The Luftschiff 47 (LS-47) is the latest airship class designed and manufactured by Schmeiser Luftschiffaufbau. To date it is one of the largest passenger airships in NationStates, but only one ship has been built, the Olympic Carrier. The Olympic Carrier is owned and operated by Eule Fluglinien. The LS-47 was designed based on the LS-45 (medical carrier) to be a luxury craft and functions as a diplomatic ship, hence the LS-47 is often referred to as a lufthotel.

Design history

After Mikitivity's entry to the United Nations in Jan. 2004, the nation enjoyed increased tourism. However, due to capacity limitations at Flughafen Biberwiesen in Miervatia City, Eule Fluglinien began losing business to other major carriers in the International Democratic Union. In 2005 the airlines convinced the government to aid it to commission Schmeiser Luftschiffaufbau to design and construct a new flagship for the airlines. The airship manufacturer ended up basing the design for its new luxury airship on its LS-45.

Since Mikitivity law requires that passenger based airships landing at Biberwiessen be helium based, Schmeiser Luft. had to incorporate new lightweight reinforced aluminum alloys into the structure of the rigid airship and new engines that would quickly traverse long distances associated with overseas travel.
