M# Aerospace/Orbital Interceptor

The M# interceptor, noted for its agility, speed, and high stress tolerance, was the first magnetic impetus propelled interceptor and the fourth aircraft in the '#' series; the previous aircraft in the series (the A#, C#, and F#), excepting the heavier K# MI fighter/bomber, were conventional jet aircraft.

It was entirely built and designed by the Imperial Defence Forces Research&Development Department, in what is now known as ICEL: there were no subcontracts for parts issued to the public sector. The M# had little success in its first engagements, suffering from a lack of effective air-to-air weaponry; that difficulty was later corrected with the addition of EM-enhanced 'lightweight' chainguns.

Originally merely fitted with EF cannons designed to knock out enemy aircraft and missiles by overloading electronic circuits with current, the M# failed to do very much but harry Tahar Joblissian naval air units during the Amerigo Slaver War Intervention by ICEL.

Later, improved models have proved exceptionally successful in the field, and the M# interceptor is expected to continue in active service in the Iluvauromeni Commonality of Everlasting Light Imperial Defence Forces Air Force for at least another fifteen years.
