Magna Cartman Colonial Army

The first organisation classified as "military" by the National Defence Act. It is lead by General Preston Stinson, who reports to the chief of Magna Cartman's defence forces General Mika Hegbunen.

Manpower

In Magna Cartman, the constitution states that all men aged 15 to 24 must serve in the military. For most, this means service in the colonial army. Up until the civil democratic war, conscription was not enforced but at present, the president has chosen to recommence with it as a means of boosting military numbers.

Prior to the civil war there were 50,000 full time soldiers and 30,000 reservists.

Roles

The Colonial Army encompasses the roles that would be conferred on other nation's army, navy and air force. Special services tasks are carried out by the United Cartman Terrorist Agency, which is also described as a militant organisation.

The army is called upon in cases of severe civil disturbances, constitutional emergencies, invasions, national security and if called upon by allies.

Bases

The Colonial Army operates a number of bases around the country. Each base has men allocated to it by a percentage.

The bases are:
Tullamore Base
The largest base operated by the army, around 25% of men are stationed there. It is also one of the most comprehensive, having aircraft, tanks, mobile surface-to-surface missle launchers and armoured personnel carriers.

Mitchell Base
Mitchell base is the second largest, stationing around 14% of soldiers. It is primarily used as a maintenance, supplies and take-off facility for a large number of the army's aircraft.

Marshall Bay Base
Marshall Bay stations around 12% of soldiers and is the most comprehensive and versitile of all the bases. It has runways and hangers for aircraft, docks for ships and large facilities for ground based operations.

Swansea Base
Swansea is located on the West of Magna Cartman. It is home to 10% of soldiers and is home to a small number of ground and sea based units.

Wuntana Base
Wuntana is home to 10% of the army men in the central regions of Magna Cartman. It contains only ground based forces.

Neptune Base
Neptune base is home to 10% men just outside of Neptune City. It contains both air and ground forces.

Earlford Bay Base
Earlford Bay Base is home to 9% of the allocated soldiers and is the official sea port for the military. It also has minimal aircraft facilities.

Elante Base
Elante Base is home to 8% of soldiers and is located about 3 Km from the Elante City centre. It has facilities for both ground and air operations.

Huang Base
Huang is located in the Huang forest, mid way between Elante and Neptune. It is a relatively small base, stationing only 2% of soldiers. It is only used as a ground forces base.

Training

Soldiers recieve their basic training at the colonial academy in Mirion. They are trained for six weeks in basic disciplinary, weapons, survival and transportation skills. Following succesful completion of the program recruits then choose what they wish to specialise in - air, ground or sea operations. According to their assesment they will then be designated as a support soldier or a combat soldier. Following this, they will be allocated to a base for a further six weeks to be trained on the job in their specialisation.

In times of war, this training may be limited to a few days of weaponary and survival training.
