Maile ni Cunedda

Maile was the queen of High King Rhygyfarch ap Cunedda, the first king of the Resurgent Dream. Because Maile is generally believed to have submitted to her husband in all matters, public and private, she is usually considered to have been a queen consort. However, this is not strictly accurate. The progeny of Rhygyfarch and Maile derive their right to rule all the Resurgent Dream both from Rhygyfarch's claim as king over the European settlers at Narich and from Maile's claim as the daughter of the aboriginal king. Legally speaking, the Danaan royal line originates from the union of their two lines and thus Maile and her husband are equally predecessors of the line of high kings.
