Ruslan Karpov(Born May 25, 1985) is a Coocoostani Welterweight Boxer, currently Lightweight Champion and an Olympic medallist. Glukov became known to the public after the rise of Ruslan Karpov set the bar for the fame a boxer could know. Glukhov has been more active in the ring though, giving him more exposure.

Early Career

Glukhov took boxing lessons in Yost at the age of 11 on the advice of his father, as he wanted his sons to become well-versed in fighting in one of the country's most crime ridden cities. Glukhov quickly showed promise and at 14, moved to Ulgava to go to high school, as well as box competetively. At 16, he fought his first novice match and by 18, he was novice champion and a full amateur.

Semi-Pro Career

Glukhov established himself early, soon moving to Coocoobad, to face stiffer competition. He didn't find any, winning the Lightweight Championship. Glukohv defeated eventual olympic medallist Henrik Jonsson in 3 rounds at Panjuhr Arena and knocked out Mike Vetter in four at the Puhdahl Bowl, before boxing entered a period of inactivity.

Olympics

Glukhov agreed to train with Herbie Bernstein at the Coocoobad Boxing Gym, where Bernstein moved him up to a Welterweight. This proved to work well, as the weight backed up Glukhov's speed with more power. Glukhov won a 23–19 victory over Iouri Begenouv of Reineberg in the first round, fighting his best in the middle of the second round, and then defending Begenouv in the rest of the fight. His semi-final against Cedric Vista of St. Samuel was stopped after Vista hit him with a sudden eight point burst and the referee intervened. Glukhov felt it was too early, but the match was over. Glukhov's Bronze medal was the fourth in national history.

Post-Olympics

Glukhov has yet to decide whether he will fight as a Lightweight again, apparently very happy with moving up a weight class. This could leave his title vacant, unless he was to move between classes for specific fights, which while possible, can be too much.
