Matthew Anderson

Matthew Anderson was born December 22, 1971, to Peter and Mary Anderson. 18 by the time of Naxos, he left Chiron for Eurytion after what is frequently described by his younger sister as a 'spirited debate' over their actions. He did not return home when they were executed for treason against the republic, and has not been in contact with any of his family since then.

During the Social Democratic scandals in the Leighton Administration after the end of the First Civil War, he joined the Social Democratic party and brought his particular problem-solving skills to bear. Insisting on a full reformation, he rose quickly through the ranks and was made the Social Democratic presidential nominee during the election of 1996. He won the election despite the predictions of the political analysts, and proceeded to attempt to reform the entire structure of the Deianiran government.

Matthew Anderson has proven exceptionally skilled with the media and populace, especially when he had to draw the support of the people to him to begin his reforms of 1998. He continues to believe that Deianira must look to friends and alliances, and the devastation of the Corvos-Deianiran War and the Second Civil War have only cemented solidly the dangers of a powerful Army in his mind. He is one of the most beloved of the Deianiran presidents, and word that he had taken over control of the Herald administration had been enough to convince the soldiers of Charles Greene's eastern front to surrender and join his forces.

At present, he is unmarried, and has expressed no intention to do so. His most famous words on the topic were, "The only marriage I need is that to my home."
